Exterior Wooden Shutters

I ordered the custom exterior wooden shutters today!

Material:  Cedar
Style: Louvered
Top Rail:  4"
Bottom Rail:  4"
Stile:  2"

They won't arrive for at least 30 days.  In the mean time, we're still debating the exterior  paint color selections.  My last post I explained the two different looks we're considering.

When all else fails I go Paint for visual assistance.  I used the eye dropper functionality to create the Restoration Hardware Slate paint for the trim.  After reviewing the photo I personally don't think there's enough contrast from the stone to the paint color.  I worship this color but not with the Texas Limestone.

I obviously didn't spend much time on this project.  However this exercise provides the visual I'm needing.
Currently, we are leaning towards the traditional black door and shutters.

What do you think? Most of you selected the first example prior to the color drawings.
Do you still think the slate looks good with the white stone?

The Front Door

We want to add a little curb appeal to the front of our house.
We are really struggling on which direction to take.
We have two looks that we are interested in.  We're not sure what will complement the Austin white limestone best.

We either like the door painted black with a cream trim that matches the stone with exterior shutters painted black.

or

The front door painted charcoal with slate trim.  In this case the shutters would be painted charcoal.

Here's an example of the second look.

Which direction should we go?
Please let me here your suggestions.

The Mirror - part 2

The mirror has arrived!
It's scale to the room is perfect and adds such a statement.

Next on the wish list is lighting.
I am leaning towards hanging this chandelier.
What do you think?

Let me hear from you.

The Mirror

While I was visiting Back Home my eye caught this Aidan Gray mirror.
It will be delivered this week to be placed in front of the French Louis
XV chairs in Gary's study.  I will provide an update once it arrives.

It's a large mirror it stands 90 inches tall and 45 wide.

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Labor Day!

Thanks for stopping by.
