My Design Room

As most of you know Natalie graduated from college and is currently living in Florida.
So it's time! We needed to part with her childhood bunk bed and turn this room into a functional space.

We started by cleaning out the room and deciding what stays and what goes.

I then repainted the room in Slate by Restoration Hardware. For the window coverings, I recycled the Belgian linen drapes from another room and hung wooden white blinds for privacy. We added a pewter metal finish head and foot bed frame with glass finials.  To complete the room we had hardwood flooring installed.

This room is my design room and where I work on Sunday Loft.
Above the desk is my DYI burlap inspiriation board.

I hung my favorite Chinese paint brushs that
I purchased during the field of dreams trip to Round Top.

To secure my sources of inspiration are little gold bubble bee pins purchased from Ballard Designs

On the opposite wall is a French bus sign.

Next to the bed is a small little mirror table.

A closer look at one of the finials that make this bed sparkle.

Hung over the bed is a oil painting from my childhood home.

The bed is dressed in all neutral linen.

  1. Geeze louise! It really puts things into perspective when I see the before and afters. I always knew how much you did and how much of an impact. However, I don't know that I realized just how MUCH of a difference from start to finish. So impressive. I have so much to learn. :)
